The Ladbroke Arms
The Ladbroke Arms in Ladbroke Grove, London, is part of the Capital Pub Company - a group that owns and manages over 30 successful pubs in the London area.

As a busy pub with a thriving restaurant, accepting card payments has always been a must, however the time taken to process a payment has always been an issue.
Malcolm McLoughlin, Manager, says, "At the Ladbroke Arms, speed and quality of service are paramount when serving our customers and making sure we get the maximum throughput in our restaurant. We were experiencing significant delays in authorising transactions due to the connection times, and this meant that our staff were spending too much time trying to obtain payment. We were often having to leave the customer, taking their card away in order to gain a connection to the base station. This defeated the object of having a portable terminal and was also time consuming, which meant our other customers had to wait longer for the tables to clear."
123 Send was contacted by the Ladbroke Arms on hearing about the speed and quality of its GPRS Mobile Terminals, and a trial was agreed to assess the GPRS solution alongside their existing solution. The trial was to assess not only the speed and user friendly software on the terminals, but also to see how the coverage delivered through GPRS would resolve their connectivity issues in certain parts of their restaurant.
Malcolm continues: "In looking for a faster and more reliable service, we were recommended 123 Send and their GPRS Mobile terminals. The difference was felt immediately - the terminals work in every area of our building due to the GPRS connectivity, and what's more they are significantly faster which means we are obtaining payment from our customers in half the time it took us before! The terminals are reliable and easy to use and our staff are delighted to be waiting more on our customers, and less on taking payments."
